I had a thought on website design the other day. A couple weeks ago Garrett’s daughter and son-in-law came out to Colorado for a visit. She had been wanting to come back to visit for a while as she had not been able to for many years. Her husband had not been at all. They arrived later in the evening, and it was dark, so the views weren’t exactly visible. However, when leaving to go site seeing the following day, the mountains, fresh air, and everything else that makes Colorado great struck the two pretty hard. Once the short vacation was over neither really wanted to go back home. I’m pretty sure they will eventually make it their primary residence real soon.
Website design with Inspiration
I tell this story for one reason. Are those who visit your website for the first time inspired to return? Does the same inspiration happen to those who have already seen it? Will customers take that inspiration and make you their new go-to expert for their needs? Cities will inevitably go through growth, and thus have to change, adapt, or otherwise improve along with it. Companies will do the same, but, like Colorado, there are those main points that continuously drive inspiration whether that be products, services, or simply the way the customers are treated. In past writings, I discussed the points to consider for changes versus overhauls to your website and its design. Today let’s look at the “if it ain’t broke” scenario. Embrace that piece that causes inspiration and carry it through each rendition of your website design. It is that piece, after all, that makes you who you are, and it is what your customers expect.
