Love Letters Without Words, but There Could Be

Continuing with the Valentine’s theme revolving around the love affair your business should have with social media, today I will discuss Instagram. If you haven’t figured it out by now, each social media platform is used as an engine to drive engagement. Facebook can be used for the lengthier conversations, twitter quick updates about your day, and now Instagram, when a picture is worth a thousand words.

The Corporate Selfie

The whole principle around Instagram isn’t overly complicated. You post images that demonstrate how awesome your corporate culture is and followers can either like, comment, or both on that awesomeness. Sure, you can use words too, but sometimes it’s nice to just not have to come up with them.

Are you having a particularly rough day?

Maybe a great day?

I think you are picking up what I am laying down here. The important thing is to help people visualize your brand and to do it on a personal level.

#hashtagit

Sometimes your corporate selfie needs some added flavor to get ou noticed. You can add a descriptive narrative if you want, or you could just utilize the oh so amazing #hashtag. Hashtags aren’t just all the rage, they are a highly effective tool to get you noticed. This is true for all social media platforms.

Hashtags are used by social media peeps to search for content that is relevant to them. I want to find everyone interested in those good ol’ red harmonicas (this analogy will get old at some point). So, I search for #redharmonicas and low and behold Mr. Harmonica’s company shows up because he posted an image of his new line of red harmonicas, along with the associated hashtag. I just buy all of them because I love red harmonicas oh so much!

Show Them Your Sexy

The whole point of an online presence is to be found in the vehicle that is used by the masses Instagram hits this on two fronts as it is primarily a mobile app and over 70 million people, in the United States alone, are using it.

There is a reason why such things web design, SEO, and social media are so mobile heavy. Roughly 50% of page views are done on mobile devices and if you ask any business or non-profit why they want to have a web presence I will bet the answer is, “So I can be found”.  Well with Instagram, and other social media platforms, there are millions of users just waiting to get to know you.

Jump on in, show them your sexy business, and get that love affair started.
