If you have been following this series, you know that social media has had a mention in just about each part. Here we’re going to talk about the specifics of why this rainbow is so essential to your web presence. We’ve talked about it from an SEO standpoint and others, but, here we’re going to just discuss why social media is a good thing to reach your audience.
Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, Instagram, LinkedIn…the list is long! Some get a headache just thinking about the time and effort that goes into social media. “When not engaging in social media, you’re doing your best impression of the Invisible Man. Worse yet, your back is to an audience that might just need you.”

Ryan makes a good point here. You built your website to be seen. You did SEO to be seen. Why wouldn’t you want to be where your audience lives, breathes, and shares everything, including their interaction with you?
This is the secret to social media. Whether you realize it or not, you’re building a relationship with those that interact with you. You have the ability to expand the brand, build the guild, and drive ’em to the hive.
Branding is such an important part of your website. It’s what everyone recognizes you by and identifies you with. It’s the mix of color scheme, logo and identity that you have worked to put together.
If you’re serious about expanding your brand reach, social media is a viable path. When you post, tweet, or snap you’re putting one more piece of content out for someone who already likes,
You’re always looking for ways to multiply your branding reach. This is one more way to get brand recognition and name recognition!
Here’s where social media gets fun. As you begin to engage with customers and followers that find on your various social media networks, you begin to get loyalty from that bunch.
You find that people start sharing, commenting, retweeting, inviting and more. You begin to have people leave five star reviews and tell people in their own posts about how great you are and tag or mention you in the post or tweet.
As the guild builds, you begin to see increase in engagement on social media. You begin to have people tell you that they saw you this or that social media network or heard good things from someone that found you in their news feed.
A majority of your posts have one purpose: get them to your website. You’ve invested your time, money, effort, blood, sweat, tears and sleep to making your website a gem on the web. You want people to know who you are and make a connection with that brand extension that social media has given you to your site.
Every chance you get, attach your web address to that post or tweet. If your social media is engaging they will click it.
Not only have you multiplied your branding’s reach and built rapport with an audience you may not have reached otherwise, but you’re now actively driving traffic to your website.
