Ok. In my last post, I talked about Facebook and likened it to speed dating. This week I am going to discuss Twitter and liken it to whispering sweet nothings to your newly found love and vice versa. Let’s face it when you are starting out a relationship you want to know what each is doing at every second of the day. Twitter is the vehicle to make that happen.
I remember in my dating years the quick phone calls, texts, and other actins to simply say, “Hey! I was just thinking about you!” Twitter is the perfect avenue for doing that with your customers.
For all of those red harmonica players out there, we were just thinking about you and wanted to share our new line of mouth harps made especially for you.

You’re followers will be esthetic to know that you have been thinking about them this whole time and love you for it.
Any new couple will tell you that the key to a successful relationship is communication and the fact that you are on Twitter shows that you are ready to be a part of the conversation. Never fear, you can overcome. First, defuse by using “I feel” statements then show them the love they deserve. I mean who doesn’t love blue? And the best way to cure the blues is by responding with a video of Papa Smurf playing a
Long story short the use of Social Media is not just a way to dazzle the world with your company through free marketing. It is a relationship builder and a gosh darn good one at that. They say the first year of any relationship is the toughest. That may be true, but at least you have the tools to make it through.
How have you used Twitter of customer engagement? C’mon! Don’t be shy.
