Sometimes people want to know what they’re walking into when they have their first meeting with a company that does web design. Are we making decisions about the site today or are we just discussing things?
Ryan thought it might be a good idea share with you what your first meeting with Webbin’ It would look like. Garrett gave him the thumbs up, so, here are three
1. You’re Going to Talk About You…a Lot
Don’t worry, we won’t make it awkward. We will probably start out at the meeting place of your choosing. If Webbin’ It chooses, most likely it will involve a certain brand of coffee that has stores everywhere.
We’ll find a spot that will seat us all and then get down to what you’re looking to achieve on the web. We want to know what you want to do from top to bottom. Do you want to sell a product or service? Do you want to promote a book or eBook? Do you want to sell your digital downloads? Do you just want to give everyone an accurate picture of what you do? Do you want to generate leads for your business? Do you want to share through your blog posts what you’re passionate about and create the appropriate links to monetize your time and promote your cause? Tell us everything. It’s our first meeting so we need to get to know each other!
If this is going to be about me, how much should I prepare?
You can prepare as much as you want for this meeting and you’ll understand what we mean by that in a moment. To get ready for your first meeting you could:
- Sketch out how you want the site to look.
- Prepare a list of search terms for search engines that you want to compete with in relation to SEO.
- Meet with your team and decide who is going to manage the site once it is built.
- Meet with your team and choose the contact person for your website should you elect to have Webbin’ It manage your site for you.
- Gather any information you consider relevant to us when we build your site. You could even include some content you want on your site.
If you have no idea how you would even put your website together, have no idea what SEO even is, have no idea what would be relevant starting out or, maybe, you’re just starting out and you’re going to be contact person and manage the site after it’s built we would encourage you to just come to the meeting ready to find out what is possible.
2. We’re Going to Talk About Us…a Little
Once we have an idea of what you’re looking to achieve we’ll talk about the services we offer and tell you what we can do to make your vision happen. We’re upfront about pricing and the amount of time that it will take for us to accomplish what you need to be done.
For the person that knows what they’re looking for because they have experience with the web and are just looking to outsource this is beneficial. We’ll give you a good assessment and picture of what the cost would be in comparison to having it done in-house and having it done by Webbin’ It.
For the person that is just starting out we’ll show you from start to finish what each aspect of your web project will cost and the time frame we can execute your plans within. We’re upfront about the cost and time frames in comparison to larger web companies and freelancers.
3. We’re Going to Close…
It’s not exactly what you think. We think we have your answers even before we meet you. We believe that once you meet with us and find out that your vision is possible you’ll be ready to go, so we’ll be ready to shake your hand and get started.
But, this isn’t the high-pressure meeting you might have heard horror stories about. It’s our first meeting and we think that would be awkward. If you’re not ready or you have things you need to discuss with business partners, consultants or your wife or your husband, we’ll just set another time to come back around and see if there are any further questions and then close the meeting.
